Her life, her love |
I'm Krista. I'm a senior at Berry College. Writer, shopper, runner, lover. :) |
Joan Bennett.
After a long and cumbersome internship search, I definitely lucked out. I ended up with two amazing internships, one at International Paper in the Purchasing Department and one that I will start next spring at the Great Rome Conventions and Business Bureau writing a travel blog. My new boss there has suggested that I start writing a blog this summer so I can work on my conversational writing skills… so here goes. I will be writing about my life, my loves, my passions, and my opinions. Follow me and join me on my journey to finally become a better creative writer.
The thing is I’ve had a tumblr before which I decided to delete. I activated a pinterest, and I decided that I had too many social networks. Having a lot of social networks gives me crazy anxiety… like how can I possibly check and keep up with a facebook, twitter, tumblr, pinterest, skype, and my three email addresses. It just seems like entirely too much; nevertheless, I have them all, and I am going to make myself deal with them. At least it’s summer… what better way to spend lazy days than blogging to you lovelies.
This is probably the part where I should tell you something about myself… my, you know, social networking bio. I guess it would go something like — I’m Krista. I’m 20, soon to be 21. Senior at Berry College, studying English literature and business. My hobbies include blah, blah, blah. My friends and I like to… I’m in a committed relationship… and on to my favorite foods, movies, books, places to visit, etc. Well I guess from that you know understand a little bit about me, but I’m not gonna go on with the rest. If you want to know about me, read this blog. I promise my writing about everyday life will reveal more than a paragraph long bio ever would. Also, I firmly believe that people can never be accurately described in these 120 word long or whatever the heck it is bios on the internet. I use to stare at those things for 30 minutes at a time trying to figure out what the most important things to share about me are… now I’ve just given up altogether. It would be impossible for anyone to describe themselves accurately. You will never get it right. We as humans are just entirely too complex.
Alright, so I guess this was me introducing myself to the world.
My last thought for today was a quote I found on pinterest the other day
“To write one’s memoirs is to speak ill of everybody except oneself.” -Henri Philippe Petain
Since I just finished with a creative nonficiton class and wrote my first memoir, I’ve been thinking about that quote a lot lately… I’ll share thoughts later :) Let me know what YOU think :)
